Allstate Auto & Truck Repair

Brake Repair

Brakes are the one system where close enough is not a standard, and on a loaded truck they are also the fastest way to an out-of-service sticker. We measure every one to spec.

Mechanical & Driveline

Measured, not eyeballed

Air brakes are their own trade: compressors, dryers, governors, valves, chambers, slack adjusters, S-cams, drums and ABS. We measure pushrod stroke at every wheel, gauge lining thickness against the limit, chase leaks to the fitting, replace friction and hardware to spec, and set adjustment correctly. You see the numbers, so nothing we replace feels like a mystery.

Brake adjustment and lining wear remain the single biggest source of out-of-service violations at roadside inspections. Measuring on our schedule is cheaper than an inspector measuring on theirs.

Duty cycle decides the interval

Port drayage, city delivery and vocational work grind friction far faster than steady highway running, because every stop turns momentum into heat and a loaded truck carries a great deal of momentum. We set inspection intervals around how the truck actually works instead of a generic mileage number.

Questions we hear

Straight answers

How long do truck brakes last?

It depends entirely on duty: drayage and city work can halve the life of steady highway miles. The honest answer is measurement at every service, which is exactly what a PMI is for.

My air pressure drops overnight. Is that normal?

No. A system that bleeds down is leaking, and leaks get worse. We pressure test the whole circuit, find the fitting, valve or chamber losing air and repair it before it strands the truck or fails a roadside check.

Do you do air brake work for owner-operators, not just fleets?

Yes. A single truck gets the same measurements, the same documentation and the same air system service as our fleet accounts.
