Uptime is the product

Every process we run for fleets aims at the same number: units available for work. Preventive maintenance catches failures early, batch-scheduled DOT inspections prevent compliance surprises, and mobile service handles what should not wait for a bay. When a truck does break, fleet units get priority scheduling because we know what an idle truck costs you.

Fleet programs and third-party billing

Plenty of fleets do not own their trucks outright or pay for repairs at pickup. We are set up with Holman Fleet Management, so a unit running under a Holman program can be authorized and invoiced through it instead of someone on your team fronting the cost and chasing reimbursement.

Government and municipal work runs the same way through GSA Fleet, and company and agency purchase orders are routine here. If your organization buys repairs through a program we have not named, call and ask: the paperwork side is usually solvable, and it is better solved before the truck is on a lift than after.

How we manage a fleet account

Fleet maintenance is a management discipline, not just wrenching, and we run it against six principles. Examine repair incidents, because different units fail in different places and the PM schedule should be revised to eliminate repeat failures. Minimize the number of visits, since it is more cost-effective to perform more work in fewer stops, ideally no more often than the most frequent PM service requires.

Incorporate predictive maintenance, by analyzing part failures across similar units to learn average service life and then scheduling replacement before the failure. Include unit checks, because a fleet maintained for another company is not physically in front of us and usage is inconsistent, so odometer and hour checks tell us when service is due sooner than the calendar says.

Project maintenance costs, so operational spending can be planned and maintenance cost compared against unit value to support replacement decisions. And minimize indirect costs, because any activity that is not delivering goods or maintaining the truck is overhead, and automating scheduling and record-keeping keeps that overhead off your bill.
