Allstate Auto & Truck Repair

Oil & Lube Service

Oil is the cheapest insurance a diesel engine will ever carry, and what comes out of the pan tells us more about the engine than most drivers expect.

Maintenance & Systems

Correct oil, correct interval, correct filters

Heavy diesels are specific about lubrication: the wrong viscosity or the wrong specification oil in a modern low-emission engine shortens aftertreatment life along with engine life. We use oil that meets the manufacturer's current category for your engine, change the full filter set, service the water separator and grease every zerk on the chassis while the truck is up.

Interval matters as much as product. A drayage truck idling through gate queues accumulates engine hours the odometer never sees, so we set intervals by hours or fuel burned where that fits the duty cycle better than mileage.

Used oil is evidence

The drain is a free inspection if anyone bothers to look. Fuel dilution, coolant traces, metal glitter and soot loading each point somewhere specific, and catching them at a service costs nothing compared to finding them after a failure. We look at what comes out, tell you what it suggests, and recommend oil analysis when a pattern is worth tracking on a high-value engine.

Questions we hear

Straight answers

How often should a commercial diesel get an oil service?

It depends on the engine, the oil and the duty cycle, and the range is wide. Rather than guess, we set an interval from your manufacturer's guidance and how the truck actually runs, then adjust it if oil condition tells us to.

Do you service the water separator at the same time?

Yes. Draining and replacing the fuel and water separator elements is part of the service, because water in the fuel damages injection components faster than almost anything else.

Can you do oil service on a whole fleet in one visit?

Yes. Fleet accounts run scheduled rotations so units cycle through without stalling your dispatch board, and every service is documented per unit.
