Allstate Auto & Truck Repair

Transmission Repairs & Rebuild

Transmissions rarely fail without warning. Slips, flares, delays and leaks are the warnings. Caught early they are repairs; ignored they become replacements.

Mechanical & Driveline

Diagnosis before surgery

Plenty of transmission complaints are not internal failures: fluid level and condition, clutch adjustment, air shift systems, solenoids, sensors, wiring and software account for a real share of shift problems. We road test, scan and pressure test before anyone talks about pulling a unit, because the cheapest transmission rebuild is the one you did not need.

When the unit is genuinely done, we lay out the options: rebuild, or a JASPER remanufactured transmission with a nationwide, transferable parts and labor warranty.

Commercial and Allison work

We work on the transmissions that move freight: 10, 13 and 18-speed manuals and their clutches in tractors, automated manuals, Allison automatics in medium-duty and vocational chassis, and PTO-equipped units driving dump bodies and wet kits. Shift quality, temperature management and duty-cycle programming all get attention, because a loaded truck punishes a driveline in ways no lighter vehicle does.

Questions we hear

Straight answers

My truck slips when it is hot. Serious?

Heat-related slipping usually means worn friction material or degraded fluid, and it accelerates. Bring it in soon: at this stage you may still be choosing between a service and a rebuild rather than between rebuilds.

Do you work on Allison transmissions?

Yes. Allison-equipped trucks are regular work at our shop, from fluid and filter service to repair and replacement.

Is a fluid change risky on high-mileage transmissions?

The risk is overstated but the conversation is real. We inspect the fluid and pan evidence first and tell you what we would do if it were our truck.
